Congratulations on your new baby!
One of the first steps along the amazing journey of raising a child is selecting the right pediatrician to care for your baby. When choosing your pediatrician, it is very important you select a practice where the physician’s philosophies regarding medical care match yours. When choosing a pediatric practice, it is also important to find “a good fit”. Excellent care happens when the practice’s philosophies regarding medical care are consistent with your own and when decision-making is based on mutual respect, aligned beliefs and values.

First Things First
Please review our approach to see if we are a good fit for you and your family. It is important to know that Island Coast Pediatrics will be a good match for you and your family and we sincerely hope we are!
Next Steps
- It is important to make sure your insurance plan is accepted by our office. We do accept most commercial insurance plans including several Medicaid plans as well.
- When your baby is born, please advise the hospital staff that you have chosen a provider from Island Coast Pediatrics as your babies’ primary care physician. The hospital staff or one of our providers will let you know when you should schedule your first follow-up visit with us. The first visit is typically scheduled within 1-2 days following your newborn’s discharge.
- Please review our HIPAA Privacy Notice Policy
- Please review our Financial Policy
Important Note
It is extremely important that you add your new baby to your health insurance policy once your baby is born. Most insurance plans have a 30-day grace period for newborns to be added to their parent’s plan. Once the grace period has expired, if the baby has not been added, the parent will be responsible for any charges incurred. Please remember to bring your insurance card, copay, and patient forms to your first visit.
